The film tells the story of ordinary militia Wang Jicai and his wife Wang Shihua guarding a small island on the border of the motherland. The two have been stationed on Kaishan Island for 32 years, 11680 days and nights, and have written 189 journals. From resentment to love, from defense to construction, they are both ordinary and great, vividly reflecting the true essence of patriotism and revolutionary heroism. Everyone was deeply moved by the film and expressed their desire to learn from role models, draw strength, further inherit the red gene in their future work, promote the spirit of dedication, focus on their own duties, forge ahead, and strive for excellence to welcome the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with outstanding performance.

At the same time, the company's party branch organized a party member commitment activity, where all party members signed a commitment letter and took an oath to the party flag as a unit.
